Lamellar water is a type of liquid crystal that is made up of alternating layers of hydrophilic (water-loving) and hydrophobic (water-hating) molecules. This unique structure gives lamellar water the ability to penetrate the hair shaft and deliver nutrients and moisture deep into the hair. However, there is some concern that lamellar water may also cause hair loss.
There is some evidence to suggest that lamellar water may cause hair loss in some people. One study found that people who used a shampoo containing lamellar water experienced more hair loss than people who used a shampoo without lamellar water. However, it is important to note that this study was small and more research is needed to confirm these findings.
